Meade Chamber of Commerce is once again sponsoring Trash & Treasurers Day in Meade. This spring the date is April 26th, on that day the entire town of Meade, Kansas turns into one giant garage sale. Country folks bring their sales into town and set up on the sidewalks of the two main streets, Carthage and Fowler in the downtown area, merchants have sales in front of their stores, and craft sales and bakes sales dot the landscape. Sellers wishing to stay at home purchase a spot on the map that is printed at the last minute and suspended from the poles at the stoplight corner in Meade. You can’t miss it—it’s the only stoplight in Meade County.

Chairman of Trash & Treasurers Day this year is Craig Unruh at Back Room Printing, LLC. Call (873-2900) for spaces downtown or on the map. Those choosing to be on the map should be prepared to describe where their residence is located so it can be marked. Those choosing to be downtown will be assigned a space. For those choosing to SHOP, the hours are from 8:00 am to ”sold out.” We encourage you to come early because the “treasures” are snapped up fast!
